Total Home Transformation Student
Honestly… my home was pretty streamlined before I joined.
I’ve had a lot of systems created and I had already gone through a big decluttering spree before we moved to a different state.
So I already had some things under control, however I am in a home with 3 growing boys and husband and dog, so it’s loud and crazy and the maintenance gets to be a lot.
So I had some systems in place, but not enough to really have the home maintain itself and gain back the hours I needed for my responsibilities and for the things that I wanted to be doing.
When I first heard of Total Home Transformation I thought, “Well, I don’t think I really need this because I already have things in place. I already have decluttered, I’ve already done a few of these things.”
But I actually went through Kassy’s Meal Planning Boot Camp and really transformed how I planned out my meals, transformed how I shop for them, and really created a system.
So I thought, “well it would be really great to hop in and see what I don’t know. And see what I could do to actually save MORE time, or see what I could delegate or let go of.”
Plus I knew the accountability piece would get me going. If I invest in something I know that I will do it.
Especially since I already knew I like the way that Kassy teaches and I knew I enjoyed some of the other ladies who were joining… so I figured “Let’s do this thing!”
When I first learned of Total Home Transformation, my life was chaotic. I had just gone through a season of HARD with a lot of things on my plate.
So even though I had already simplified a lot of my life, there were still things that I couldn’t take off my plate.
- I couldn’t take work off my plate
- I couldn’t take my responsibilities I had with the kids off my plate
- I couldn’t take homeschooling off my plate
- And other things like that
So I just had a lot going on and I was feeling very overwhelmed very burned out. I wanted something to change, I just didn’t know what.
My kids are all a bit older (my youngest is 10) so they already had responsibilities in the house.
I am one who very much delegates the cleaning and the laundry, so I didn’t need too much help with that.
But the most frustrating problem that I was trying to solve was “What am I MISSING? What is that missing link to really buy back my time?”
- I wanted to be able to actually sit on the couch and actually read a book if I wanted to.
- I felt like I didn’t have any time for myself.
- I didn’t really even have family time.
- I was really missing that connection and that quality time that I wanted.
The main goal I was trying to accomplish was to cross my t’s and dot my i’s and see if there is anything that I could do to streamline my systems in my home even more than I already had.
And the second goal I was to have that accountability and support along the way. I’m always better working with or for someone else that I am to do things for myself or on my own.
So I knew I needed
- A little bit of a kick in the pants.
- Something that would be a little quicker so I could just get it done.
I like to just get things done and move on to the next project. And since this was a big project for me I wanted to have that support.
And the third goal that I had was to DO this thing to be able to build that connection that I was longing for for myself, for my family, and even to just feel ok going out with friends and knowing that the home and my responsibilities are taken care of.
My biggest hesitation with joining Total Home Transformation was that I’ve already done a lot of the things.
- I had already decluttered my house
- I already had some systems in place
- I already had a morning routine
- I already had my kids helping
So I was wondering what else could I learn? Could I learn something new?
Am I just going to be spending my time doing something just to do something.
I also wondered if I should spend the money on this right now.
I wanted to make sure this was something that would work for me. That it was something that I didn’t already know.
And I also worried that I wouldn’t have time to complete it.
If I dive in to something, I want to know that I can do it and that I’m going to do it.
Plus my plate was already SO full and I had so many responsibilities that I didn’t know if I could literally add one more thing.
One of the main things that helped me over come my hesitations and join the program was that I really trust Kassy and I love her teaching.
I also wanted to connect with others who were doing the same thing.
The investment was low enough for me that I felt like I could trial it for a month and see if it was what I wanted and what I needed.
And as far as the time hesitation, I felt like I could trial it and see if there were any pieces that would work for me and if it didn’t I wouldn’t wast a lot of time.
The main things were just knowing the quality content that Kassy puts out, and knowing some of the other people joining (I can get a little FOMO!) so I was excited to do this together with other people.
The number one most important thing that I accomplished since joining the program is even letting my family do more.
They were already helping around the house, they were already doing a lot.
But I realize that I really didn’t have to be the end all be all.
We all can have our own responsibilities and I could set it up on a routine so that it worked like clockwork so that I’m not nagging them all the time.
The thing that I didn’t want to be doing was nagging.
And I am known to be nagging them, asking “did you do this yet, did you do that yet?”
So this program really helped me.
The other thing that helped me was creating a really actionable meal plan that I could Set and Forget.
I don’t have to sit with all of my cookbooks every week and create a plan!
I already have a plan in place (I did the 4-week rotation.)
So I know what I’m getting at the grocery store. I know what I’m cooking. I have my recipes. And that has saved a lot of time.
It has also saved a lot of time because when I can’t cook dinner, I can delegate that to my husband and say “here’s all the stuff, can you cook it for me?”
If I hadn’t joined Total Home Transformation I would be creating systems on my own.
I’d probably still be working on figuring out what is going to work best in my home and probably testing things over and over again.
So I am very good at streamlining and organizing… but sometimes you just organize to organize or declutter just to declutter without getting the jobs done.
That’s what I think I would be doing. I would just keep trying something new and not really finding the thing that was going to work to keep a consistency inside my home.
So what it all comes down to is I chose to join Total Home Transformation instead of trying to figure it out myself because I know that Kassy had a system, and she had a plan.
- I knew the different categories in the program.
- I knew I wanted to get the Meal Planning figured out even more.
- I wanted to know that my decluttering was good and solid.
- I wanted to check my routines and seeing what I was missing.
I thought it was really important for me to once and for all get things under control.
And rather than trying to do it all on my own I could have someone to give me support and to guide me.
But the thing I love about Total Home Transformation is that it’s not meant to take forever.
- It’s meant to be done quickly.
- It’s meant to be done in a streamlined way.
- It’s not meant to take over your life.
If someone asked me about joining Total Home Transformation, I would say “Yes, jump in! It’s a great experience…. So much fun!”
Kassy does live events each week so you can connect with others which really motivates you and encourages you to do the things that you need to do in your own home.
But you can also pace it well to fit your lifestyle and your capacity. This is something that is really important to me to make sure that I could do it in the season that I was in. (And I was in a pretty tough season!)
So if you are thinking
- I just need to get some things under control.
- I need to get my kids on board.
- I need to get my family on board.
- I need to delegate some things.
- I need to create a system that’s going to work for me in the season I’m in.
Then you definitely need to do it with Kassy! She will show you the way.
It’s really a great time in the membership itself!
